National Network for Safe Migration-NNSM organized Capacity Building of Returnee Migrant Workers on 11 Aug 2023 in Kathmandu. Returnees as well as prospective migrant workers participated in the program. The program was followed by a presentation from the representative of the Foreign Employment Board Secretariat (FEBS). The presentation highlighted information related to FEBS, Migrant Resource Centre (MRC), MRC Club at Facebook, knowledge of Baideshik Rojgari App (government app), information regarding call centers operated by the government among others. National Network for Safe Migration-NNSM meets Ms. Indira Rana, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Nepal on 8 Aug 2023 and discussed on the various issues of foreign labour migration. NNSM attracted her attention on revision of Foreign Employment Policy 2012; amendment of Foreign Employment Act, 2007, Mobility Restriction on Female Migrant Workers for Domestic Work, Undocumented Migrant Workers; Voting Rights of Migrant Workers, Reintegration of Migrant Workers, among others. National Network for Safe Migration-NNSM with support from the Solidarity Center organized a ‘Provincial-level Consultation on Reintegration of Migrant Workers’ on 4 August 2023 in Janakpur of Madhesh Province. The consultation was organized on the presence of Chief Guest Hon’ble. Birendra Prasad Singh, Provincial Minister. Other guests were Mayor from Janakpur Dham Sub-Metropolitan; Deputy Mayor from Harion Municipality, Sarlahi; Vice-Chairman from Province Policy and Planning Commission.
